  • Two current forms of ID:
    • Texas Driver’s License/Identification
    • Passport
    • Social Security Number
    • Birth Certificate from country of origin
  • Full down payment along with any other applicable fees

How to Improve and Prevent Bad Credit

Did you know that every time you apply for credit, it could cause a small dip in your score for a year? That’s because if you make multiple applications for credit, it appears as if you want to use more credit. This means that if you’re going to apply for something with credit, make sure to not do it as often. The result could mean unintentionally lowering your score.

One of the best ways to improve credit is to not juggle bills, but make monthly, on-time payments. If you’re bad about paying bills, or paying them on time, it can damage your credit and hurt your score. Never dismiss regular bills or pay them late.

In order to do this, come up with a budget. Sadly, creating a budget is often overlooked, but it is just as important as paying your bills on time. A budget plan will help you figure out what needs to be paid for more efficiently. If you find that your monthly income isn’t enough to cover all of your expenses, then it may be time to change your lifestyle a bit. The best way to adjust to that is by creating a savings account.

It’s always best to set aside a certain amount of your monthly salary for emergencies. The standard many experts agree on is 10% of your income going into a savings account. You can eventually increase this amount over time, but 10% is an excellent place to start.

Your checklist will include the number for the precinct you’ll need to contact in order to receive a building permit. Numbers for water and electricity providers will also be provided. Your checklist will also contain the number where you can get your 911 address. This is so your police department has your new address on file and can get to you as quickly as possible in an emergency.
