StageLight Theatre: Children’s Summer Camp
Presented by Edinburg Arts and the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library for ages 7 to 14, this six-week long children’s theatre summer camp will focus on stage acting and theatre studies. Held weekly on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, these two-hour classes will run throughout June and July.
Taking place at the library and the Historical Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, campers will have the chance to step onto the stage and share their talents. They will have the opportunity to learn the basics of theatre, including acting methods, approaches, the theater audition process, fun preparation techniques and so much more.
Those who complete the theatre camp will receive a professional headshot and resume to help them with future auditions! With limited capacity available, hurry and register your child here! Did we mention all of this is ABSOLUTELY FREE?
Swim with Gus and Goldie in Edinburg
Nothing beats the summer temperatures more than making a splash at the pool. Your kids can even learn how to swim like a pro before heading back to school. From 16-months to 14-years old, everyone can learn to get comfortable in the water to learn the basics of perfecting their swimming strokes!
For infants 16 to 47 months, parents should be prepared to help increase their child’s comfort level in water and build a foundation of basic swimming skills. It’s a great start for them to begin their adventure in the world of swimming! Find the swimming schedule and fees here.
Athletic Camps
Don’t let your child slide into a slump. Get them out and active with great athletic camps for tennis for ages 5-7, developmental baseball for 4-year olds and track and field for 5- to 17-year olds. It’s a great way to keep them moving and practicing their favorite sports. Parents can even get in on the action with an adult basketball league and United States Specialty Sports Association Adult Softball League. City of Edinburg Summer Camp
For ages 6 through 12, June through August is going to be a fun-filled summer! The city promises to deliver great arts and crafts, field trips, fun and silly costume days, video games, tournaments and other special events with free breakfast and lunch served. Recreation Summer Programs
From dance, karate, water coloring, tumbling and more, your child will have fun learning new activities this summer! There will even be activities for your babies, including pre-school kittens cheerleading, acrobatics and tumbling, and Goju-Ryu karate classes! Parents can even get into the action with salsa dancing, boxing, guitar lessons, karate, kickboxing, martial arts and much more! It’s a great event for the entire family! Edinburg Scenic Wetlands Summer Nature Camps
Instead of letting your kids spend their summer indoors, why not send them over to the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center Summer Camp? They will appreciate the great outdoors while learning about animals, plants and the world through hands-on activities, explorations, arts and crafts, and much more!
